Sandra Heusel is one of the founding members of Eaton Arrowsmith School. EA, along with Eaton Cognitive Improvement Centre, follows the Arrowsmith Program, created by Barbara Arrowsmith Young over 40 years ago. The cognitive remediation program allows students of all ages – school aged to adult – to increase their capacity for learning by building new neural connections, and to transfer back to typical school settings with reduced educational support. Based on the concept of neuroplasticity, or the brain’s ability to change and grow, our students are able to get to the root of learning difficulties rather than becoming dependent on compensations and strategies in order to achieve their academic and social potential. The result – the ability to not only dream but to realize those dreams!
