Featured Member Event: Vitamins, supplements & herbs for women 40+ – Toronto, ON
May 28 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Vitamins, supplements and herbs are non-hormonal therapies, available over-the counter OTC (sold without a prescription), and used widely in the treatment of hot flashes by women all over the world. Businesses have realized the commercial potential and have come up with a vast array of products to treat menopausal symptoms.
There’s a wide array of products claimed to help women in menopause, like black cohosh, dong quai, evening primrose oil, flaxseed, ginseng, hops, maca, omega-3 fatty acids, pine bark, pollen extract, sage, soy, and siberian rhubarb, but are they really effective? And safe? There are few studies done by manufacturers on the efficacy and safety of herbal supplements.
In this workshop, offered by Elite+ Mompreneur member Teresa Isabel Dias you will learn:
- what products are effective for the management of menopause symptoms
- what products are considered safe
- how to use supplements and herbals properly
- whether multivitamins are important for women in midlife
- if calcium prevents osteoporosis and fractures

Teresa Isabel Dias has been a pharmacist (community and drug information) in Toronto for over 20 years. She realized there’s a void in the health care system when it comes to the care and support of women in midlife, especially during the menopause transition, and she set out to fill it – she became a Certified Menopause Practitioner with the North American Menopause Society.
All women will go through menopause, most are unprepared, and many suffer in silence believing that they are the only one and there’s no relief. It doesn’t have to be that way! There’s help!
Teresa provides one-on-one consultations, in person and online, offering help, evidence-based and accurate information, support and care that empowers women to make informed choices about the management of their menopause. To learn more about Teresa Isabel and her work visit: https://menopaused.org/
