Christine Stowe – Fireweed Learning Community

Christine Stowe is an Elite+ Mompreneur member based out of London, Ontario. She is a Certified Medical Intuitive, Reiki Master, a Certified Adult & Children’s Yoga Instructor and a Tour-of-the-Soul Guide for Fireweed Learning Community. After more than 10 years of international work, Christine discovered she had a deep passion for leading people into unexplored territory, both in the physical and spiritual realms.
Through much self-discovery, Christine has learned that the greatest mysteries lie within, and has helped people traverse the human experience. She is a born adventurer who has a childlike curiosity about everything and brings that into all she does. As a proud single parent of one, she continues to grow by forming meaningful connections with all whom she meets and living her life on purpose, practicing mind-body-soul alignment and operating from wholeness. We are so thrilled to be sharing Christine’s Success Story!

Tell us about your business!
I run a holistic healing business, which means I spend my time and energy sharing the years of international living experiences, along with a holistic health education. This sharing takes shape in the form of retreats, yoga classes, medical intuition assessments and coaching calls. I prefer to call myself a Tour-of-The-Soul guide, because I believe all the answers we need are within us but sometimes we need a guide to help us remember!

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
I had a major health crisis after the birth of my son, and as I sat watching him play on the floor I literally left my body. I knew in that moment that the physical disease was coming from a deep place, and if I didn’t face it soon my son was going to lose his mother. I quite literally had to come apart before I could find whole, and it took a lot of emotional, spiritual and physical work. Within the journey I came face to face with my true heart’s desire to teach and inspire, and finally found the place where I believed I could do it.

What is your “WHY” behind your business/being an entrepreneur?
There are endless opportunities to hear bad news. With little to no effort we can hear about bad politics, drowning economies, devastating storms, and horrific acts of violence. What we seldom hear however, is how to change it. I believe the change comes from within each of us, and that with each person I help find whole health creates ripples of change in their lives by bringing that health, vitality and wholeness into their businesses, their parenting, and their relationships. It fuels me to take action and provide solutions to what isn’t working, with possibilities of what can.

What’s the best part about owning your own business?
I love the flexibility and endless possibilities. Each day it is up to me to decide how to turn up, where I want to put my energy and what I want to be doing next. Waking up each day I am gifted the chance to make a difference in someone else’s life and this keeps me inspired and excited!

What impact did other people/experiences have on you, and how did they help you get to where you are in your business today?
The first instrumental change occurred when my father suddenly passed away. In his living life he had very little resources, however upon passing he was able to gift me the financial means to purchase two life altering training programs. I took a two-part program with Shifting Into High Gear, where I learned about Wholeness practice and Medical Intuition. In the first course they taught me how to heal from within and take responsibility for how things happen to me. In the second course they taught me how to go out and help others. I used the other bit of money to take two Yoga Certifications with DevaTree School of yoga, Heart Rise Children’s teacher, and a 200-hour adult yoga teacher certification. These courses contributed to the further breaking down of who I was – or thought I was – and contributed to the rebuilding process of who I am now. I learned how yoga can heal a mind a body and a soul. These courses have given me the confidence to embrace my true gifts as an intuitive empath and a charismatic coach.

What values do you believe in and live by, and how do they shine through when it comes to your role as a business owner?
I use Danielle Laporte’s Desire Map every year. This past year I identified curiosity, intuition, joy, empowerment, nurturing, and community as the ways I want to be feeling in everything that I do. When I evaluate what to do or how I am doing it, I ask myself if I am feeling most or all of those words; if the answer is no, then it is off the table. I also use these feelings as ways to get creative on directions to take in business, or new projects I may wish to create.
What are you most proud of when it comes to your business/being an entrepreneur?
I am most proud of the fact that I started. I’m proud that I started believing that I am enough as I am, and that I have gifts worthy of sharing with the world. I am proud that I gave up on perfect, and that I make mistakes, and I am proud that I turn up every day, ready to take action in ways that stay true to who I authentically am.

As the business builds, I see my private practice in yoga and coaching being full, as well as all my retreats. As this becomes a constant, I see myself shifting my role to teaching others what I do, so they can begin building their practice in their own communities and we can cause a tsunami of Whole Health Healing globally.
Any tips for women thinking of starting a business?
First: accept that you may not be able to do it all, and HIRE people – whether that is to clean the house, cook meals, or do your accounting. ACCEPT HELP.
Second: The mind is limited. Find your soul, listen to it, and let your heart lead the way. The heart has unlimited potential and can always dream bigger than the mind can fathom. Your mind is full of excuses, and most people operate form this place. Don’t let others’ minds hold you back any more than your own mind. Seek out people who believe in your dreams, and surround yourself with people achieving theirs!
