Time vs. Money-When is it time to Outsource?

Sometimes business demands can over-run your schedule, no matter how diligent you are with creating a killer time map. So what is a busy mompreneur to do? Outsource!

Simply put, but not so easily done for those of us who like to be in control of every aspect of our businesses.  It really boils down to three questions:

1.   Where is my time better served?  

Are you better at selling than the mundane task of bookkeeping and paperwork?  Or are you internet savvy enough to rock your social media world and website, but not so good at the selling? Figure out what you are best at and do it well. Then hire someone else to take on and master the things that aren’t at the top of your ‘love to do’ list.

2.  Am I making enough money to pay someone else to do these things for me?

If you think outsourcing is the way to go, but are worried you’re not making enough money to be able to compensate for the extra expense, consider raising your prices slightly so that you can outsource.  What this means is whether you are good at the books or good at the selling, you can always increase your potential revenue to cover these extra expenses while doing what you are best at and hiring someone else to do what you need help with.

3.   Is the quality of my work starting to deteriorate because I can’t keep up with the demand?

At the end of the day, quality is what matters and if your customers are beginning to complain about the quality of your work or the length of time its takes to get something done, then its definitely time to outsource.  The last thing you want is to lose customers because you do not have the time to give them your best.

Outsourcing has many benefits; it will make you more money, give you more time, and keep you doing what you love to do the most.
