What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
The thought that I could present my ideas and accomplishments, and the freedom of setting up my own schedule so I can prioritize my family.
What’s the best part about owning your own business?
The fulfillments — you see your accomplishments and set your pace.
Can you describe a typical day?
With my Travel days, I start with emails and responding to texts. Then I am always trying to finish a new Certification/Specialist course to enhance my knowledge so I am better informed for my clients. Most of all my goal is to enjoy my day!
Who do you count on for help?
I count on other team members within the Travel Agents In Action group. Their expertise and knowledge can always help you when you need advice or help in your business. We work towards all of us being successful.
Have you ever had to sacrifice something at home for work? Or vice versa?
I have had to give up on opportunities to visit other places since work requires me to be here or my family needs the help.
What do you do on a day off? Do you even know what a day off is?
A day off is rare but I usually spend it with my grandkids. I am hoping this year I will be able to enjoy more golfing.
Are you active in your community? What does supporting local mean to you?
I am a supporter for the deaf. I enjoy helping out and giving assistance, whether it is being friendly or helping someone out in need.
Name another entrepreneur who inspires you.
Andrea Nadon, the founder of Travel Agents In Action. I always find Sara Clarke an inspiration as well, with her juggling of her family bookkeeping business and the activities with Monpreneurs.
What does the future look like for you and your business?
We can only go forward with our business and see it grow with our passion and continued quest for knowledge and experiences.
