What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
Actually, I had no intentions of working for myself or running my own business! It was one of those things that just landed in my lap at the right time. I was skeptical at first but, after trying the amazing products that helped increase my energy, mental clarity, and reduce my medications, I knew I had to share with those who are important to me. It just felt like the right thing to do and I had a drive and a strong intuition to follow my passion.
What’s the best part about owning your own business?
I enjoy the freedom and flexibility of being able to be there for my family. This was so important to me when I was working in the corporate world for over 20 years, and always one of my dreams, but I never thought it would happen.
Can you describe a typical day?
Oh yeah, my routines are like a stay at home mom’s. The nice part is being the one to drive my kids to school, interacting with other moms, and preparing my home cooked meals. I get to attend my girls’ school activities and be there after school to help with homework and watch my daughter play basketball.
Who do you count on for help? Do you have a network of family that answer the call?
Being Italian and having a large family, I am so grateful that I can count on them to help me out when needed. I also have a great group of supporters with Zija in various areas who I can count on to support me and my business.
Have you ever had to sacrifice something at home for work? Or vice versa?
I was really struggling with this in the beginning because I felt guilty and made excuses to be unavailable for an out of town conference, or would make excuses not to work on my own personal development as I needed to be with the kids. But, I quickly learned I would be doing a disservice to myself, my clients and my family.
What do you do on a day off? Do you even know what a day off is?
I take Sundays off for my faith by attending church with my family, and afternoon lunch or dinner out at one of our favourite restaurants.
Are you active in your community? What does supporting local mean to you?
I am involved in my children’s school fundraising committee which I really enjoy.
Name another entrepreneur who inspires you.
The Mompreneurs community is very supportive and inspiring. I enjoy being in the company of like-minded women and seeing them come together to support each other in a positive environment.
